GATE BT Mastery: Section 2- General Biology
About Course
GATE BT Mastery: Section 2 – General Biology is a comprehensive course designed to help students build a strong conceptual foundation in the core biological sciences required for the GATE Biotechnology examination and related competitive exams. The course systematically covers Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Immunology through structured lessons, detailed notes, concept-driven explanations, practice questions, PYQs, quizzes, and mock assessments.
In the Biochemistry module, learners will explore the structure and function of biomolecules, membrane biology, transport mechanisms, metabolism, photosynthesis, respiration, enzyme classification, enzyme kinetics, and various modes of enzyme inhibition. Complex biological processes are explained with clarity and problem-solving approaches relevant to GATE-level questions.
The Microbiology section introduces microbial diversity, microbial ecology, microbial growth and nutrition, host–pathogen interactions, nitrogen fixation, viruses, antibiotics, antimicrobial resistance, and essential microbiological techniques. Emphasis is placed on understanding microbial systems and their applications in biotechnology.
The Immunology module provides an in-depth understanding of innate and adaptive immunity, antibodies, antigen processing, MHC, immune regulation, vaccines, hypersensitivity, autoimmunity, monoclonal antibodies, and transplantation immunology. The course connects fundamental immunological principles with exam-oriented preparation.
